Julia Gomez-Coronado joined The Lab team as a Research Assistant in September 2026. Julia is from Madrid, Spain, and is pursuing a Master of Public Policy and Quantitative Methods at American University’s School of Public Affairs. Prior to graduate school, she lived in Vancouver, where she completed a double major in Economics and International Relations at the University of British Columbia.
She has previously worked in policy and research roles with the U.S. Department of State and the European Commission, focusing on economic, energy, trade, and infrastructure policy. This summer, she has also worked as a Research Assistant on an academic research project in economic development and governance, supporting data cleaning, analysis, literature review, and interpretation of administrative job-seeker data to better understand employment barriers and job-matching outcomes.
Fun fact: Julia has lived in six countries so far, including two different times in the United States, and loves using each move as an excuse to explore new places, cultures, and food.
