Marlyn Bruno

Marlyn (“Mar-leen”) is a Research Assistant in The Lab @ DC and a Master of Public Policy candidate at Georgetown University.

Prior to joining The Lab, Marlyn was a Senior Program Analyst at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she helped implement DOJ immigration programs for noncitizens appearing pro se in immigration court. Prior to that, Marlyn was an immigration paralegal for deportation defense cases in New York City. She has volunteered for various immigration advocacy organizations throughout the years and comes from a community organizing background. Beyond her interests in criminal justice, immigration, and social urban policies, Marlyn is interested in how public policy processes can evolve to center and involve impacted communities every step of the way.

Marlyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Neuroscience and Spanish language and cultures from Princeton University. Outside of work and school, she is usually reading a novel, fawning over her nieces and nephews, or trying to keep her (many) plants alive.
