Paul Zaim

Paul Zaim joined The Lab @ DDOT as a Research Assistant in June 2026, supporting the District Department of Transportation’s applied research team. His work focuses on econometric analysis of transportation programs, including evaluation of the Capital Bikeshare pricing model and assessments of behavioral responses to the August 2025 fare changes.

Paul is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematical Economics at Gettysburg College, where he is also involved in public policy initiatives through the Eisenhower Institute. Prior to joining The Lab, Paul worked with the Highway Safety Office and Vision Zero teams at DDOT, where he led a feasibility study examining the potential recovery of over $100 million in unpaid Automatic Traffic Enforcement (ATE) fines.

Originally from Bucharest, Romania, Paul now lives in Northwest DC. In his free time, he enjoys working on engineering side projects, exploring cities, walking, and trying out new restaurant and bakeries.
